Research and documentation work, technical reports and the study of Salvador Dalí's technique all have the same objective of furthering knowledge of the artistic procedures and materials used by the artist. This knowledge forms the basis of the work undertaken in the department, as is also the assessment provided in response to different external requests and for other departments and projects of the Foundation, among these the Authorising and Cataloguing Committee, and the catalogue raisonné of paintings published online by the Centre for Dalinian Studies. For this purpose, the Department carries out various research projects in collaboration with other institutions with scientific laboratories, such as the Universitat de Barcelona.
