Shanghai, 24 June 2015
Joan Manuel Sevillano, Manager of the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation, presented last 24 June in Shanghai the next exhibition to take place abroad. With the title Media-Dalí, it will be on show from 5 November 2015 to February 2016 in the cultural center of the K11 Foundation in one of the most spectacular skyscrapers in Shanghai. The theme chosen is the artist's relationship with the media. The show will consist of 200 works of art, including oil paintings, collages and period copies of magazines and newspapers in which Dalí collaborated very actively.
The Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation has the King of Spain as its Honorary Chairman. It was created by Dalí himself back in 1983. It's the only Dalí foundation to receive official recognition from the Spanish Government. The Foundation is extremely cautious when deciding how to present Dalí's artwork and selecting suitable partners to work with. Juan M. Sevillano, Managing Director of the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation stated "we fully recognise K11 Art Foundation's professionalism and its contribution in promoting the development of contemporary art. This collaboration is the result of both organisations shared desire to art promotion".
The Media-Dalí exhibition is the only one in China showcasing Dalí's works to be officially authorized by the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation since 2001, and also represents the only official Dalí exhibition to be held in the Greater China region from 2015 to 2016. Its contents are considered national treasures of the Spanish Government. It will offer a unique and nobility visual exploration to publics.
