The new guide to the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres has just gone on sale, published by Triangle Postals. The authors, Antoni Pitxot and Montse Aguer, know their subject-matter deeply. Montse Aguer has devoted her working life to the study of Dalí in general and the Theatre-Museum in particular. Antoni Pitxot, the director of the museum, offers us his testimony, knowledge and experience gained from having shared both the creation of the museum and his friendship with Salvador Dalí.
The author of the photographs, Jordi Puig, a photographer who has worked extensively on the Empordà region and its people, explores the Dalinian world once again and conveys it to us.
This guide sets out to explain to readers the conception of a museum that Salvador Dalí had, in an exceptional overview of the Dalí Theatre-Museum, how it developed over time and was transformed. Above all, however, it explains what it meant for the artist, for it was his last great creation.
The guide can be purchased for 12 euros in the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation shops and in bookshops. It is available in Catalan, Spanish, French, English, German and Italian.
