Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol is presenting in its exhibition room a new selection of photographs, this time under the title The Performing Arts World and Salvador Dalí, which can be visited up to 1 November 2001.
As occurs each year, on 15 March the doors are once again opened to visitors at the two museum-houses run by the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation: the Salvador Dalí Museum-house in Portllligat (Cadaqués) and the Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol (La Pera). And as has also become usual, Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol is presenting in its exhibition room a new selection of photographs, this time under the title The Performing Arts World and Salvador Dalí, which can be visited up to 1 November 2001.
This exhibition's selection of pictures, from the photographic archive of the Dalí Study Centre, shows Salvador Dalí's various degrees of relationship with leading figures in the world of performing arts. There are testimonies from friends who afforded Dalí the chance to create backdrops and costumes for cinema and theatre, others who allowed him to create a further episode in his own life-story, or others still who simply formed part of his project for creating a self-image.
Alongside Salvador Dalí, the leading figures in the photographs are Gregory Peck, Ingrid Bergman, Luis Escobar, Maria Callas, Federico Fellini, Mario Cabré, Walt Disney, Laurence Olivier, Cantinflas, Harpo Marx, Amanda Lear, Serge Lifar, Antonio Gades, Manitas de Plata, Rhonda Fleming, Paulette Goddard, James Mason, Yul Brynner and Elsa Peretti.
