Observations
Dalí made this work especially for the cover of the discs forming part of the edition of the opera-poem "Être Dieu", which he wrote in the early 1970s and released on the occasion of his 80th birthday. At the auction held on June 1, 1995, it was explained that this painting was seized by U.S. Customs on December 7, 1993, from a Colombian drug cartel which tried to sell it as part of a money-laundering operation.
