Observations
We have titled this work "Anthropomorphism, Extra Flat" because it may correspond to the picture Dalí presented, with number 18 in the catalogue, at the exhibition in the Alex. Reid & Lefevre, Ltd. gallery in London during June and July 1936. Later, in September 1970, Dalí titled this work "Geological Justice", with the following explanation: "Type of figure-landscape, on the ground, both arms crushed and open. Painted at Portlligat", as stated in the catalogue of the exhibition held in Rotterdam from 21 November 1970 to 10 January 1971. At the end of the exhibition, the painting was deposited at the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam until the end of 1977.
