We have entitled this painting Cour centrale de l'Ile des morts (obsession reconstructive d'après Boëcklin) in the belief that this is the picture Dalí presented as number 31 in the exhibition at the Galerie Jacques Bonjean in Paris in 1934. This work was shown under the title Cour centrale de l'Ile des morts (obsession reconstructive d'après Boëcklin) in the Exposition Dalí at the Galerie Jacques Bonjean in Paris in 1934.
