The Catalogue Raisonné of Salvador Dalí Paintings is a research project carried out by the Centre for Dalinian Studies. It started in 2004 on the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of the artist's birth.
The aim of the project is to put online the most painstaking and rigorous information possible gathered on Salvador Dalí's pictorial production between the years 1910 and 1983. Conceived of as a work in progress, the catalogue raisonné is modified on an ongoing basis and constantly enlarged with new information brought by the technical teams of the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation.
Thanks's to an exhaustive work , we have been able to publish the results of the research in three sections thus far: the first, presented in May 2004, covers the years 1910 to 1930 and includes 258 works. The second was published in January 2007; it starts from the year 1931 and ends in 1939, and includes 211 paintings. In May 2011 a third section has been presented , with 136 works spanning the years 1940 to 1951.
The fourth stage of the catalogue raisonné, taking in the artist's pictorial work from 1952 to 1964, was published in May 2014, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the inauguration of the Dalí Theatre-Museum. The fifth and last stage will include the works from 1965 to 1983.
The work is carried out by the technical team of the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation coordinated by Carme Ruiz and Anna Otero, under the direction of Montse Aguer, Director of the Centre for Dalinian Studies (CED), with the help of Antoni Pitxot, Director of the Dalí Theatre-Museum.
As an institution devoted to studying the work of Salvador Dalí, we encourage owners of the artist pictorial work to provide information on the works, whether published or unpublished, by e-mail or by ordinary post.
