"Babaouo". Recuperation of the light
A project to recuperate the warm lighting tone in the small Babaouo diorama constructed by Dalí in 1932. This consists of a theatre box of wood measuring 26 x 26 x 30 cm, with panes of glass painted in oil in the interior, and with the light situated at the back of the box, behind a translucent glass pane. At some time in the history of the piece, the original incandescent light bulbs were replaced with cool-light fluorescent lighting, and the aesthetic appearance of the work changed entirely. It was also discovered that the light fittings had deteriorated and required replacement. The new lighting system features LED technology, thereby allowing a presentation that is closer to the original aesthetics of the work.
