The manuscripts represent one of the most important parts of the documentation kept at the CED. Studying them allows us to have a better gasp on the enormous work accomplished by Dalí as a writer. The documentation centre holds a total of 680 manuscripts, among which we can find the notebooks containing the artist's youthful diaries, drafts of articles published in surrealist magazines such as Minotaure or Le Surréalisme au Service de la Révolution, as well as some of the talks that he gave over the course of his life. The collection also holds the 1,728 pages of his autobiography Secret Life. Thanks' to the wealth of this collection the CED has been able for the first time to publish in Catalan and Spanish the complete works written by the painter in Catalan and Spanish, particularly the volumes devoted to poetry, narrative, scenographic projects and essays.
