Unique Original Work by Salvador Dalí |
This sculpture, which Dalí made for the dome of the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, is part of a group of fifteen works in plaster sculptures that the artist designed and produced in person for the decoration of this space. Each was conceived as a unique work and is characterized by the different attributes or objects it incorporates. Dalí made this figure in 1974, in his sculpture workshop at Portlligat, also known as El Colomar (the dovecote), and there are photographs of it in the archive of the Centre for Dalinian Studies that show Dalí at work on the modelling of these sculptures.
