Observations

During the month of November 1944, Dalí worked on seven paintings to be exhibited in the lounge of the Ziegfeld Theater in New York, all of them related to the new show by Billy Rose, The Seven Lively Arts. In this case, the theme is the art of radio. These works are known only from period photographs, as they were destroyed in a fire at Billy Rose’s house in Mount Kisco on 2 April 1956, as he himself explained in the Herald Tribune, New York, 4 February 1959.
